Any chart for DTxx series comparisons available?

While I've seen charts that compare Datataker units of the same era/series, are there any charts that provide a per-series comparison of the same devices?

I.e. DT85 vs DT85-2 vs DT85-3 vs DT85-4

Hi Brian,

I am sorry for the late response; unfortunately, we do not have a comparison matrix on the dEX chart.

The DT8x series 1 has no dEX; we use DeLogger 5 to program and view the data. DeLogger 5 utilizes communication via command interface (port 7700), plot the incoming data in the fixed format, and plot the readings. It is good, but you will lose the data portion if you move into different windows, and it cannot extract the data from the beginning of logging.

DT8x series 2 and 3 starting from firmware 8.00, utilize dEX, which resides in the memory card. The advantage is using internal processes, which will interrogate the logger faster; thus, only require a tiny fraction of the time to request the data. The process is different from the DeLogger; dEX actively gets the data via a request while DeLogger gets the data passively due to port 7700 that stream the data to the PC.

Because dEX shares the memory in the logger, there is a limit on the maximum time windows to view the data. That limit and the EOL of flash player were stopping the continuation of this dEX version.

DT8x series 4 deviate from the previous dEX; it is now running on a PC and utilizes PC resources, obviously the requesting time for the data increase. In theory, there is no limit on the amount of data displayed in the chart as long as the page is open.

But since we do not have any database in the backend, every time you change the viewing time frame or move the windows, the apps will send requests for all data once again.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
