dEX connection issue

I thought i would try to use dex to reprogram our logger but we have now been having troubles connecting to the datalogger through DEX web interface. We are able to connect via FTP and also via deTransfer so the problem appears to have somethig to do with with dex or network settings.
When we attempt to bring up the web interface, the dex main page shows up, but then when we click on monitor the logger, or configure the logger it times out. I am able to monitor the logger with the html version(low speed connection) but nothing on the high speed connection will work.

We have upgraded the DT80 firmware recently and it had been running fine for a few days after that, and we cannot think as to why this would be happening. Our IT department has invetigated any potential network issues and could not see anything out of the ordinary. We have tried power-cycling the datalogger through deTransfer and also physically on site. I have cleared the web cache and reloaded but nothing is working.

Do you have any ideas that we can try?

cheers

Good morning deangb,

After upgrading the firmware you must clear the browser cache so the new application load and not the old one.
Also check any fire wall settings don't block the ports that dEX requires.
Please refer to http://www.thermofisher.com.au/show.aspx?page=/ContentAUS/Manufacturing-Processing/Industrial-Loggers/DataTaker/DataTaker-FAQ/dEX-FAQ.html for the ports required by dEX.
Note: Fire walls can exist on the network server, routers and on the PC. If the ports are blocked at any point then dEX will fail to load.

Cheers

Roger

Thanks Roger,

I did attempt to clear the cache previously but must have missed something as it now works, however it is now extremely slow in connectivity. It takes several minutes for the status to appear, and i am now attempting to retrieve data. Normally this would take no more than 5 minutes for a weeks worth of data, but it has been running for 35 minutes now and it is still going.

I am able to connect to the LIVE demo weather station on your site which is fast, so i am guessing it must have something to do with the receiving end of our DT80.

This is very frustrating as it was not like this prior to firmware upgrade. What should i be looking at to resolve this??

Why not to revert to the previous firmware release to see if the problem is upgrade related?
