clearing/terminating current job

I recently purchased a secondhand DT80 series4. The previous owner says it has had a factory reset. When I power up the unit it reloads the last current job. I have attempted to interact via dEX2 but can't get passed the username/password. I have tried to access via deTransfer but usb connection is refused. I have tried the reset button both single and triple. Suggestions on how to cancel current job restart?

Hi Ian,

The previous program may include communication restrictions, thus I recommend you enter safe mode to bypass all of the settings and halt the program. From here, you can clear the old jobs using DELAALJOBS then followed by FACTORYDEFAULTS to reset all settings.

Please use the triple push method to enter safe mode.

Normally you can use a small pin to push the button next to the Ethernet port (inside a hole). But you can also trigger it by varying the logger power ON and OFF using the following sequence:

  • unplug the logger power supply (adaptor/ green terminal)
  • in the next second put it back in, and wait until 4 LED blinks at the same time (twice or three times) but before you hear the clicking sound unplug the power again.
  • repeat the same thing twice and in the last power-up you will see a safe mode message on the screen

In safe mode, all the logger settings will revert to the default including any security setting and the program will be frozen until the next power cycle.

Best regards,

I removed the CF datacard from it's internal socket and plugged it in to usb port via a cf to usb adapter. It was then trival to edit/clear the user and password files back to empty files. I also clear the a:/jobs directory. Replaced back in DT80 and restarted dEX-2. Comes up nice and clean with no permission issues.
