I send it for repair in a representative and he said that equipment is obsolete, no replacement parts etc...
This equipment was buy many years ago and stay in the box for this years.
Recently I use it to monitoring a weather station.
Since I star use it I could year a very low noise seems near the power supply part
One day we have some difficult to connect to the pc and when I try disconnect the power jack I touch a little in some pin of the rs232 connecter and I saw a little spark.
In that the equipment is ready for trash. I cannot accept so easy, and I am trying to understand the faulty.
When I connect power it flashes some leds (I can see later wish leds) but never connect to the pc.
Yesterday, I open it and check power board after board.
The power supply gives about 22v to the power board, at the output pins to next board I have the 22v and the 3.6v from battery.
Connect second board to the first, connect power and at the output pins I get 22v and 3.6 V.
When I connect the 3rd board (that has the connectors, rs232, etc) the power fluctuates between 19V and 22V indicates that could be some problem in this board.
My first question is, Can someone help me?
Can someone give me some tips? Could the small touch with power jack in the rs232 pin damaged some serial communication?
Can I check some pins in the serial IC?
Best regards
