3 wire strain gauge connection to logger

can anyone please guide me how to connect 3 wire strain guage to DT85G logger and how to collect data from it?
i am a first time user and didnt know about this.
if anyone can provide me connection diagram or any document regarding this.
it would be very helpful for me.

Thank You.

Hi Akshaysoni111,

The stain gauge needs a Wheatstone bridge configuration, there are four arms of the bridge and one of them will be the strain gauge.

In dataTaker, you can choose to use a full bridge which means you will need an extra 3 completion resistors (for the 3 arms). In this configuration, you can either use a voltage excitation (BGV - B2 configuration, page 309) if the wire is short or current excitation if the wire is long (BGI - B4 configuration, page 310).

Or you can use a simulated bridge in which 2 of the resistors are simulated, thus you will only need one completion resistor. This method applies only for current excitation BGI.

The following is an example of 3 wire strain gauge fit into a Wheatstone bridge.
