Add channel factor using dEX (noobie question)

Is there a way to specify a channel factor when setting up measurements using dEX? I need to account for a 100 ohm shunt resistor in a 4-20 mA measurement. The program generated by dEX does not seem to have a place to include this value.

Good morning Waylandg,

100 Ohms is the default so you don't need to change the shunt value but if you do use a different shunt value the setting in on the advanced tab

Cheers

Roger

Hi Wayland,

Thanks Roger, the location of shunt resistor entry is on the advance page.

However we do have some interface error in relation to scaling (dEX on firmware 9.1smile, which erase shunt resistor entry from advance page.
After you set up a scaling shunt resistor value will turn to 0, and if you move to other channel before fixing the value of shunt resistor, this entry will disappear.

If this shunt resistor entry already disappear, you must delete this channel and recreate it.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan

Roger - Our maintenance people were told to add the 100 ohm external resistors when it was installed. They have since replaced them with higher tolerance resistors and checked for ground loops.

Rudy - Thank you for that information. Recreating the various channels allowed me to enter the necessary values. I can now also see where the values should appear in the .dex file.
