DeLogger, suddenly no serial connections

Hi,
I have been using DE Logger for 8 months with a DT80 and DT800 with not problems.
Suddenly I am no longer able to connect to the loggers via serial connection with DELogger5.
I am still able to connect via TCP from DElogger, and interestingly I am still able to connect via serial through DETransfer so its not a serial port issue.

There seems to be very little configuration for serial ports in DELogger, only baud rate and Flow control which i correctly have set to 57600 and software.
I have reset the logger to factory and also uninstalled and reinstalled de logger to no avail.
Are there any other setting sin DELogger I may have missed?

Cheers
Ben

Good afternoon Ben,

What type of connection to the logger do you have?
USB Connection?
USB to RS232 converter?

And what version of firmware is the logger running?

Cheers,
Roger

Hi Roger,

I am using a prolific USB to RS232 serial converter and a DB9 crossed over as per instructions in the manual.

dataTaker 80 Version 9.08.3932
Product: DT80-1

Connections can be successfully used through DETransfer using: 57600, 8, N ,1 XON/XOFF

Hi Ben,

Ok, so it was working and now it isn't so you need to find out what has changed.

Check the connection name and definition. You may want to delete the connection name, close DeLogger then open it again and recreate the connection.
The problem we face is DeLogger is a discontinued product so if Windows has added a patch that has broken DeLogger then there is nothing we can do to fix it.
Have you tried using the dataTaker USB drivers and the USB cable on your DT80? That should also work.

Cheers,
Roger

Hi Roger,

I just made up an Ethernet crossover cable and went in directly from my laptop Ethernet port to the the DT80s Ethernet port.
I can manage this way.

Cheers
