Ethernet communication

We have been testing a DT800 using 3.99.13 beta firmware and have had some problems with losing contact with the logger using Ethernet connection.

Each time this happened we connected serially to the logger and check the status. This worked without problem and we couldn't detect any reason for the Ethernet comms problem.

To restore Ethernet communication we had to reset the logger, SINGLEPUSH worked most of the times. The problem with this is that we must reinitialize the IP-address and we also seems to lose logged data. Is there any other way of restoring the comms and is this a "known" problem.

Good morning Bertil,

We have no known problems with the TCP/IP and are giving it a good thrashing trying to break it.

I have passed this to engineering and have a few questions for you.

  1. What software are you using?
  2. How frequently are you returning data from / talking to the logger?
  3. How are you programming the TCP/IP in the logger? (Are you using the IP command or setting the Profile?)
