Unload speed

How fast should you be able to unload data off a DT800. I am using a LAN connection and it has taken an hour to unload 23 MB of replay file off a 256 MB CF card.

Good morning PRC,

That's not a simple question to answer; our testing here shows unload speeds of around 25 kb/sec. (As compared to your 6.4 kb/sec)

A lot has to do with the speed of the computer and operating system the software is running on. Also the software unloading the data can have an impact as well. It is further affected by the amount of traffic on your network.

If the logger is acquiring data at a fast rate then that will also slow down the unload speed because priority is given the acquisition process.

Cheers,
Roger

I am using delogger to unload the file.
I had stopped all the schedules on the DT800
My Network has very little traffic.
My PC is a 2.6M P4

I tried using FTP to transfer the file and it completed the transfer in 3 minutes.

I don't know why there is such a big difference but I now know how I will transfer files from the DT800

Good morning PRC,

FTP was going to be our next suggestion. As it is a binary transfer it is substantially faster.

Cheers,
Roger
