DT800 trigger

I am recording temperature inputs to my DT800 on an hourly basis. Is there a way to trigger the logger to only record the temperatures every hour when the feeder to the unit is running. Right now it records hourly 24/7?

Good morning eglerb,

Yes you can. If there is a digital output you can tap into or a spare contact closure on a relay you can wire that into one of the digital inputs and then you can use the trigger while function.

The means the logger will sample at a set rate while the digital input is in a particular state.

Cheers,
Roger

Roger,

I tried doing this, it works the first time the contact is made but will not stop recording when the contact is opened. The way I have it connected is one wire from NO relay contact to Gd and another wire from the other side of relay contact to 1 on digital channels.

I've tried the digital input low and digital input high and any digital input m to n settings, none of them will stop the recorder once it starts. I have the variable input m set to 1. Any other suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks,
Bob

Good morning Bob,

It sounds like the voltage level is not dropping below 0.6 VDC.

Have you used a multi meter to read the voltage levels and continuity? The digital inputs are CMOS so a 1 is over 2.4VDC and 0 is under 0.6 VDC.

Cheers,
Roger
