Is there any limitation in the performance of the DT800 if a Compact Flash card is used instead of a PCMCIA ATA card? CF cards seem to be less expensive and easier to obtain.

I realize, of course that a card adapter will be needed but these are only a few bucks each. I had proposed to buy a SanDisk 512MB CF card. Any known problems with this manufacturer? If yes, can anyone kindly recommend an alternative well-known CF card manufacturer?

Please read the technical note on ATA flash memory. It discusses issues with memory cards.

I would be careful using "Cheap" flash cards to save a couple of dollars. Your data is worth far more the the price difference.

Sandisk are good quality cards but we do recommend using Industrial grad cards for the reasons covered in the tech note
