I am using an Acer Aspire 1680 laptop with DT800 logger and Delogger4 Pro software now. Previously I was using an IBM NetVista computer with Rs232 port. I tried to use USB2.0 to Serial Rs232 adapter by CablesUnlimited.com.

When I tried to connect to Dt800 logger using Delogger4 Pro V4.0.3.2, Windows XP shut down the computer Acer, and I sent the error report to Microsoft.com. I did read that others were using these types of adapters.

What brand do you suggest? Are there any other problems with these?

Not all USB to serial converters are created the same.

We have tested quite a number of them over the past few years and now carry one on our price list that we know works well across different versions of Windows and different models of computers.
