Short of IO channels

Because our testing site is getting bigger i am short of IO-channels. I need about 8 extra counter channels and 12 extra digital out channels for control. I would like to know what is the best way to solve this problem

If you are comfortable with programming the Serial Sensor Port, you can use 1 DT800 as the 'data hub' and have a second DT800 as expanded hardware and processing. You can basically get the SSP to send datataker text commands (like 1..10V) to the host port of the second unit, then parse the returned data into CVs for logging on the first unit.

Not pretty programming, but it can be made to work.
