I have a DT800 of which i am using the 8 digital output channels drive relays for switching plant. The problem I have is that I require a further 2 digital output channels to drive 2 more relays any suggestions as to what I can do.

You could put together some basic logic components to decode a Byte or Word output into the extra channels.

I recall someone doing something with off the shelf gear, maybe search the forum for 'byte output' or 'digital word' type phrases. Or use small pilot relays with enough contacts to build some logical combinations.

I was thinking of using the analog output terminal to drive one further relay, this I may be able to live with. But if not where do I get such an external circuit which will increase the number of outputs on dataTaker?

You could use the serial sensor power to operate as one output. 1SSPWR=1 to turn the power on and 11SSPWR=0 to turn off.
