DT800 network connection

Hi,

I just about to consider DT800 in an industrial application where I need to sample several discrete inputs (24VDC) and analogue inputs (4-20mA).

The total number of I/O is 214 DI and 81 AI, and I just read many forums and DT8x manuals, but I'm not quite sure how to manage it. By using standard DT800 I would need 14 units, but I'm not sure if I'm able to put them all in the same Ethernet network and retrieve the stored data with DeLogger software.

Can you briefly explain me the idea to achieve that?

Good evening peixoto_datataker,

I don't foresee any problems. There is no limit to the number of TCP/IP connections. I have tested DeLogger with 11 DT800's streaming real time data over TCP/IP connections.

Using DeLogger Pro you can stream the data to a database which will help you keep the data organized and using action will help greatly in handling multiple connections and data sources.

Cheers,
Roger

Thanks Roger,

That's good to know, but I'm still debriefing on what is better to do in this specific application, and if you can help that will be great. The application conditions will require 20ms sampling of all this I/O and logging averages based on user definition from 100ms to 3600s and total of 500,000 registers available.

Would you go for several DT800 is series, or DT80/85 with several CEM20?

Good afternoon peixoto_datataker,

This is starting to get beyond the scope of the forum and really needs to be looked at in detail.

Could you please contact our distributor Computer Aided Solutions in the USA? They are very capable and know the products really well. I'm sure they will be more than willing to assist.

They can be contacted via email at sales@dataloggerinc.com

Cheers,
Roger
