FTP file reading software

I got dataTaker to push files to a FTP server. Now the client wants the data to be display in real time in a software display. Ughhh...

Have you guys seen any real time display software that can intercept data from FTP stream directly? Or read the latest data from the files in a FTP server?

Like to know have this been done before. Usually real time software displays use data from TCP/IP, GSM, or even email. I never seen a real time display from FTP as source before.

Why not to use the embedded web server or connecting to the logger using Delogger or DeTransfer over TCP/IP?

The issue here is TCP/IP needs static IP, and it is very expensive in my country for wireless static IP subscription, like $500 a month.

Good morning Orange,

We do have some customers who have set up their own systems. They have a program running on the server that grabs the files and processes them into the formats and displays required.

You will have to put this together yourself.

Cheers,
Roger

If the provider assign a public IP for $500 "una tantum" you can buy a router that includes a DynDNS service or similar, avoiding the static IP needing. Otherwise you need to follow the Roger's suggestion (I think it costs to you more in time / developing solution more than the cost of a router).

Thanks guys.

The dynDNS is an awesome idea! Static IP has been on my mind for ages!
