Hi,

In my continuing quest to make a DT800 a thermocouple in disguise, I need to check for the possibility that one of my input thermocouple has been fried or broken.

I see a post in another forum about using a 2-wire resistance check. When I have a thermocouple (type-K) into channel 7, read as 7TK, I get a sensible reading. However, if I try and read its resistance, I am returned eithe

What does the following sequence of LEDs indicate:

Acquiring LED flashes
Charging and card busy LEDs flash
Acquiring LED flashes
All five LEDs flash
This sequence repeats itself. A triplepush reset during this problem had no effect and we are unable to establish communications via modem with the DT800. It appeared also as if the DT800 program halted unexpectedly.

Thanks,
Stu

Hi,

I may be crazy (see above), but it seems impossible to assign channel variable numbers with exponential notation less than 1 (ie. with a negative exponent). eg. 1CV=1E2 1CV 100.0 1CV=1E3 1CV 1000.0

Now fractional values: 1CV=0.1 1CV 0.1 But... with exponential notation, only zero is stored: 1CV=1E-2 1CV 0.0 1CV(FE7) 1CV 0.000000E0

Bug? Feature? Sunday? Also, am I correct that y

Hi,

I've been trying to write a little program, and am sure there are better ways of doing the following.

Firstly, I'm trying to simulate an IF THEN ELSE clause, and following (kinda) the manual, I have:

RB1+E
'triggering on digital input
IF(1CV><0,2){[GA 2CV(W)=3]}
IF(1CV><2,4){[HA 2CV(W)=1]}
1CV(W)=2CV
This now works, but is ugly and offends my sense of programmin

What's the spec (db) on the DT800's internal buzzer?

The reason I ask is because it is usually not loud enough. Knowing the db rating on the buzzer would give me a starting point for where I need to go in purchasing a separate buzzer

Thanks,
Stu

Hi,

I followed page 170 of the DT800 manual and wired seven shared 4-20mA inputs on channel 1 and 2. Now that I am trying to program my DT800, it is not giving me any options to write 1+I(#) which is required for shared terminal programming as shown on page 170 of DT800 manual.

If there is no HASH terminal option for the current inputs then how can I program according to page 170 of the

I'm trying to figure out using a DT80 to write fixed format files on a USB drive and came across the following in the DT80 forum "The DT80 uses a binary file for data storage". This format gives us tighter control over data storage allowing faster card access and pre-allocation of files.

DT800 will go over to this format when V5 firmware is released next year. This was posted in 2005, but th

Hi,

I am trying to have the same alert and status information sent to multiple recipients - email addresses and phones, using SMS. I am using a DT800 with a cellular modem.

I have tried the following code but it does not seem to work. I only receive messages at the first email address listed, and I will get one for each line below. Is there a better way to attempt to send a single SMS m

What terminal should I use as the return when using the Analog Out Ao terminal? I thought Sr looked most sensible and with my present experiment it seems to work fine - is this preferred?

Pg 148 drawing makes Ac look like a good choice, and maybe using Ac or even Sp I could create (differential) output voltages greater than 10 V this way if I wanted. Are any of these bad choices? Why?

Hello, A simple request. I am measuring temperature with type TT thermocouples. I would like the display readout in the text mode to only account for two decimal places. How do I do this?

Hi,

I have modified a program for a job on DT800 but i clicked on send and reset program rather than simply send to connection.

The problem I have now is that I cannot unload the data logged previous to the time I did this, as when I go through the usual motion of unloading it simply gives me the data from the time and date I clicked send and reset even when I try to unload all or if I

Because our testing site is getting bigger i am short of IO-channels. I need about 8 extra counter channels and 12 extra digital out channels for control. I would like to know what is the best way to solve this problem

Greetings,
Jan

My DT800 program is extending to proportions that it is more difficult to find bugs in the program. In the help file I found that there are debugging options available.

The error messages in the lower pane tell me the error codes and I can track them in the manual, so I know what kind of error it is. BUT I am still not able to locate the specific program line where the error occurs. Can anyo

Logged data using burst mode. but unable to see the logged data in exported Excel sheet with proper time scale. Time scale is not proper in the Excel sheet, although the data can be seen with proper time scale in Deview.

Please help. can there be any option to see proper time scale in Excel sheet( in micro or nano seconds).

With regards,

I want to sample 12 V channels simultaneously. Four V channels corresponds to 30 Hz signals, and the rest of them are continuous. I want to sample the AC signals every minute and the CC signals every 10 minutes.

I don't want to get instantaneous samples as this will need both high memory resources and high sampling speeds. However, it is very important that the taken samples give a good aver

I am having trouble getting the DT800 to sleep while using an external battery supply. I am concerned with power consumption.

I am programming the DT800 using an ONINSERT.DXC file on a CF card. (The program contained with the in ONINSERT.DXC file is at the bottom of this message).

The DT800 is being powered by at 12V external battery source connected to the Ext Batt terminals. In the pr

Hi all,

I have to work with two DT800 because I havent got enough channels with one DT800, but I need to acquire data in both at the same time reason why I must synchronize them.

I had thought about running the program in each DT800 with a digital input that is the same one for both and thus the readings are synchronous. Would it be sufficient with defining schedule that it read

Hello, Roger,

An easy one, this time! I am sampling pulses at 50 msec, by counting them and then using RS function. My problem is that with such fast schedule repeat times, these 3 sec pulses cause interruption to the "orderly" run and introduce errors.

Thus, the question - is it possible to turn off the "heart beat"?

Cheers,
Chris

I have a flow meter that uses a magnetic pickup that generates 2900 pulses per gallon. I need to calculate Gallons per minute.

I am using 7C(+=1CV,R) to get pulses and I can calculate gallons but I can't seem to figure out how to calculate GPM.

Hi all,

I've been reading the DT800 manual to find out if I can somehow get the DT800 to start running a program at a specific time. For instance, we have to setup our DT800 package for a test flight.

However, the actual flight time varies from 30 minutes to 1 hour. We only get a certain time allotted for our package before another team takes their turn. If I can somehow tell the DT800
