Hi,

I am a complete beginner. I have a flow meter with a 5 Vdc supply requirement, a 0 Vdc return and a signal output. The signal is a square wave 5 volt peak. There are 500 pulses per litre.

For the 5 Vdc power supply I am using sp terminal. set to 5 Volt in p47. For the 0 volts I using the sr terminal. For the signal I am using the + terminal on analog channel 2 for example.

My DT800 stopped recording after a few hours and was flickering all its LEDs in a repeating pattern. I think it was consistent with the forum posting "All five LEDs flash", which resolved to a repeating reset due to memory card problems.

I also noticed are that the amount the DT800 4SV channel reports written to the card is -521823.0 (yes, negative). This all seems to point to an incompatibl

I am having problems as well with my DT800 and the internal battery supply. After Fully Charging the Battery the DT800 will only last for around 4-5 hours before voltage drops to below 9.5 V and the system goes to sleep.

The only program running is checking the internal battery voltage and Current once every 1 minute. Full Charge on the Battery reads 13.97V It appears to be drawing around 69

Hi Roger,

We have purchased a DT800 dataTaker and are experiencing difficulty setting up the Ethernet communications on the device. I have followed the Ethernet comm setup procedure in the DT800 manual but fail to see the green led flashing on the Ethernet port of the DT800.

After a triple push reset we notice a solid amber LED light up on Ethernet port. If the Ethernet cable is unplugg

Hello!

We're trying to get this laptop to work with our DT800, and it comes back with the above error. We're trying to connect it wireless, it works on another laptop but I can't figure out why this one laptop doesn't work.

There is no firewall set, and I don't think I have any anti-virus software loaded on it to prevent a connection. Wireless system is working--can connect to the inter

Hi Roger!

Look...in DT500 exist one command for settling period that allows the input signal to stabilize before is measured, that we send the command 7SV.

How can I do this kind of procedure with the DT800? Is that possible? Thanks.

Hi.

I've a doubt, can you help me? I'm using DT800 with 128 MB memory card and i can't save the program inside the memory card. There is anything that i can make to save not only data but the program inside the memory card too?

Thanks

I can't get connection to my DT800 using Ethernet. In profile I've set the static IP for logger gateway and so on (when that is done a message of resetting logger appears, and the logger resets).

I can ping the logger but when i connect via Ethernet. I don't remember the words but in the log i get a message like "connection was force rejected" or something. Just wondering what IP is set unde

Hi,

I'm having some problems with my DT800, because in the laboratory I worked and I made some tests with it and everything is fine.

"TEST" command said "PASS" and everything, no problems at all, but when I place it on a structure (a train bridge), that I'm monitoring, and I send the program, the DT800 shut down, death, all lights gone, and I can't connect it anymore, don't respond.

When I run the following burst schedule it doesn't trigger.

RA;BURST(2000,4000,LEVEL,50,0S) LOGONA GA
1VNC(S2,"Starting current",LEVEL>720,GL5V)
2VNC(S1,"Capacitor Voltage",GL5V)
If I remove the 2VNC line it works. What's going on? Do I need to specify a LEVEL in the 2 VNC line?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Long time no hear (or write)! I have a relay that I want to drive from Digital Channel 1, operated by an ALARM. Voltage level on the channel switches between 3.6 and 0v (approx).

Can I connect the relay coil directly between dig Ch 1 and Gnd? I am a bit confused reading the manual.

Hi,

I have two DT800's out in the field which are being used to log wind data at 5 Hz over a period of several weeks. Each logger is taking half of the measurements and the plan was to later combine the two data sets.

However, I have just being processing the first months worth of data and have found that there appears to be a significant time drift between the clocks of the two loggers

Hi,

I just about to consider DT800 in an industrial application where I need to sample several discrete inputs (24VDC) and analogue inputs (4-20mA).

The total number of I/O is 214 DI and 81 AI, and I just read many forums and DT8x manuals, but I'm not quite sure how to manage it. By using standard DT800 I would need 14 units, but I'm not sure if I'm able to put them all in the same Ethe

Hi,

First of all i do follow the upgrade FAQ and i can't find doing anything wrong. But makes the first upgrade step upgrading to 316v4b. I see the bootloader starts in details then it just get stuck and i see some strange letters.

The "OK" button is just grey marked, and the loading bar haven't even started. My first problem is I have version 2 update 10 and when I lo

Hi,

Our DT800 gives FAIL for:

Analog Pos Supply 1.1 (FAIL)
Analog Neg Supply 0.7 (FAIL)
Common Mode Rejection Ratio 0.0 (FAIL)
DataTaker Health (FAIL)
Additionally we cannot take any analog signal from any analog channel. There is no problem with digital channels. We have started to get these fail messages after making several measurements using a wireless torque meter which was ins

Hi,

After getting my capacitance strain gage multiplexer system working the mechanical engineers have now given me another test!

They would like to now add 14 resistance 1/2 bridge strain gages (one active one dummy for temp. compensation) and 5 thermocouples to the all ready active one thermocouple, one full bridge gage and 4..20mA current loop running on my DT800.

I don't believe

Hi. I am new in forum.

I made a LabView program that allows me to set the analog and digital outputs of the DT800. When I set the values with a control in the front panel there weren't problems but when I tried to program a PID controller to set the VO value after a while it stopped working out.

I founded in this forum and with the deTransfer that I was receiving the E55 error message.

Hi Roger, please help!

I am using DT800 in burst mode to read accelerometer data. Take excitation from 12V Serial Channel (have to, as need the other Sensor Supply to be 5 V, while the subject one needs min 8V). Output is connected as V to +/- connections.

The setup works fine with data values below 1000 mV. However, once the acceleration values exceed that level, the logged values go "
