Has anyone tried using the s::can spectrometer with the DT80? I believe the s::can has MODBUS but can only function as a MODBUS slave and DT80 has MODBUS but it too functions as a MODBUS slave. So can I conclude that DT80 and s:: cannot talk?

I'm starting to get problems with a couple of our remote monitoring stations that use DT80s(we have approx 30 such units located all over the place) - these particular loggers are currently operating with Firmware version 6.06.

Both have a single program running which logs data on a 30 minute cycle. Problem, when connect to the logger I cannot access the data on the card, nor can I access th

I have been playing around with the new V7 firmware to try and overcome the issue of not knowing if the FTP 'push' of a file was successful.

Short story: It seems to work using the new 29SV variable in a simple alarm. I figured that every value below 0 for 29SV was bad and everything 0 or higher was OK, so used a simple regular alarm test every logging scan.

If the last FTP attempt was

Dear Sir,

Last week, I already bought a new DT80 with new firmware 6.22. I got small problem here. Why i can't connect DT80 via RS232 null modem cable?.

Normally, i don't have any problem with this DT80. It's, new brand of DT80 had any changes with their command.

Hi,

I'm having endless troubles getting results from the dataTaker. I wish to email the logged data to myself. DT80 won't have DeLogger connection but will have have Ethernet. Does it need DeLogger running or can it do export/email automatically with a schedule? I have got the DLPMessageHandler.exe working (it emails fine) but don't know what the command is for making an email an action.

Hi All,

I am still battling away on the project that I mentioned in a previous post, but as I have progressed slightly I thought it would be better in a new thread. My application is using a DT80 (and now also a DT85) to log data and then upload to a web server via FTP.

I am struggling to make the FTP part work. At the moment I have a DT80 connected to the internet via a Belkin router,

Hi All,

Here's a quick question... I am looking into using some satellite telemetry to send a large bunch of data daily and want to minimize transmission time to cut costs, one sure way is to reduce the file size being sent.

The data being a csv file should be able to be "zipped" substantially before being sent - is it possible to implement some form of data compression in the DT80? If

Hi All,

I am currently working on a D T80 project which involves numerous DT80s uploading data to a web server via a GPRS modem. I think I can transfer the data by opening an ftp connection to the server and then unloading using 'U' directly into a text file on the server.

Is there any reason to think that this might not work? Also, is there any way that the DT80 can handle strings rece

Dear Sir,

We are facing he following problems in DT80 (being used in Automatic Weather Monitoring Station for acquiring weather information from various sensors)

DT80 is acquiring erroneous data from some of the sensors randomly. It acquires underrange or overrange data fro Temperature and wind direction sensors (resistance),Relative humidity and solar radiation sensors (voltage) etc. Th

Hi everyone,

I'm quite new to dataTaker. Sorry if my questions seem like rambling but would like to let you in on the details so hopefully someone might diagnose the problem.

Anyhow I seem to have problems connecting to the DT80 using my laptop. I have followed the instructions by the book so I can't seem to troubleshoot my problem.

I'm using Ethernet connection to connect my lapto

I have a DT80 data logger and I have plugged it into our home router with an Ethernet cable. In about 3 months we are planning to go to England. How can I access the DT80 overseas? I need a very detailed description of what I need to do.

Yours truly,
Sam Foster

Hi,

I am a basic user of DT80, till now I'm measuring temperature through DT605 and DT80.

Now if i want to measure the rotation of shaft and want to log that rotation (RPM) into datataker, how can i do that??? "Do i need any extra torque meter?"

Cheers

Hi,

Has anyone connected the new DT85 with a PLC through MODBUS? I am wondering if I could connect all my sensors to DT85 and send all CV data to a PLC using MODBUS TCP/IP or RS-232.

Will the MODBUS communication be real-time (every second) or PLC will only receive data based on my logging schedule?

Cheers,
Ken

Dear Sir,

One of our customer (Bharat Aluminium Ltd) is looking for DT80 or DT85 to log temperature and voltage data under 50 Gauss magnetic field environment (Pot flux process in Aluminium smelter plant).

We are not sure whether DT80/85 can work under this environment. However, we understand from customer that Aluminium company Dubai and Aluminium Bahrain are using dataTaker datalogger

Hi,

I am setting up a DT80 to be accessed over the network, I can connect through Delogger, Detransfer, HTTP and FTP. I am wondering if there is any way to set a password for access to the dataTaker. Because the way the network is set up anyone could access it from any where and we want a basic level of access restriction.

I tried creating a password with "password='xyz'" command, but I

Hi Members,

Does anyone know if there's a way to store an accumulated count so it can be read back as a starting point again following a Singlepush or power cycle on a DT80?

This isn't a concern for normal counts that are reset periodically or analog channels, but in the case of rainfall which is reset every 9am, if the DT needs a power cycle or Reset on site any total counts will be lo
