JBUS vs Modbus

Hi,
Does anyone have experience using JBUS with Datataker? I appreciate if you can share your experience. I read that JBUS is similar to MODBUS except for the adressing. I found it is NOT true. Any comments?

Hi Chandran,

Can you please describe what the differences are? I was also under the impression that the only difference was an address offset of 1 because I once used a device which had Jbus to the dataTaker and it worked with only that difference.

Hi Kade,
Attached is the equipment (Solar inverter) I am trying to interface with. When I use MODBUS, it's response to datataker is invalid. I am still trying it out. That's why I wanted to know whether Modbus and Jbus difference is only the address and the communication protocol are the same. Maybe you are in a better position to advice.

I can't attach the pdf file here. Is there a way I attach in forum? The message says. "The extension pdf is not allowed." I'll email to you.

TQ [Chandran]

Hi Chandran,

I have looked at your email and responded there.
I feel that it is due to connection or baud rate or address, etc.

Could you also perform the modbus diagnostics using p56=4 through the command window to get more verbose information.
