We have recently purchased a DT82I for use with an industrial coater. The coater sends strings of real time parameters which are forwarded through a RS232 port to a dot matrix printer. I was hoping to use the datalogger to retain a digital copy on a usb and then send the print command to the dot matrix printer. Since both printer and coater communicate only over RS232 I was planning on connecting them directly into datalogger but from all the literature I have seen on the product there is only one serial port which we can use. Is it possible to somehow connect the two devices directly to the datalogger?

Any help would be greatly appericaited.

The DT82I has two serial ports, the RS232 Host Port and The Serial Sensor Port which can be configured for RS232, RS422 or RS485.
You can connect 1 device to the host port and the other to the serial sensor port.
Then program one port to parse the incoming data and the second to retransmit to the printer
