I formatted a 4GB Kingston DataTraveler 100 thumb drive (USB 2.0) in a DT82E.

The Datataker read the USB for many minutes before returning front panel control.
prior to formatting it.
It took quite a while to format (no big surprise).
I then entered runjoboninsert"10OCTO15".
This worked and created the appropriate SNxxxxx directory with a job file in it.
I entered removemedia and received a message saying it was safe to remove.
I removed the thumb drive.
I then entered deljob"10octo15".
The job was deleted.
I then inserted the thumb drive.

It read the device for many minutes and then said that it was unrecognized.
I remove the thumb drive and reinserted it. It has been reading it for an hour and 30 minutes so far.

Do you have some direction that you might give me in this regard? Would smaller thumb drives speed up the process and is there any documented problems that apply here?

Hi nseii,

In normal condition, formatting USB device should make easier for dataTaker to access it.

What is the status of dataTaker when you inserted USB device?
What is the content of ONINSERT.dxc in that USB device?

Did you try to save measurement data into USB device?
Could you check that USB device with your PC for any lost cluster?

Regards,
Rudy Gunawan
