Configuring DDNS (no-ip)

Hello Everybody,

I have a problem about configuring DDNS for DataTaker DT80M:

  • I am using a SIM which support 3G (Made by Swisscom in Switzerland). This SIM has been active and it has “IP public address”. It change IP address after the modem DT80M is restarted.

  • I create an account with DDNS service provider: no-ip.com.

  • I create a domain name for the logger, and attach it to my DDNS account.

PROFILE MODEM_SESSION DDNS_ACCOUNT=NO(Why?? it isn't NO)
PROFILE MODEM_SESSION DDNS_ENABLE=YES
PROFILE MODEM_SESSION DDNS_SERVER_PORT=80
PROFILE MODEM_SESSION DDNS_SERVER_URI=dynupdate.no-ip.com/nic/update
PROFILE MODEM_SESSION DDNS_PASSWORD=(It's correct)
PROFILE MODEM_SESSION DDNS_HOST_NAME=(It's correct, created in no-ip)

I have followed by instructions in User Manual DT8x. But now I am not successful .(http:// www.xxxx.xx is unavailable )

What do I need more about this problem?
Please give me some advice.

I am a new person Who study the Datataker. I have no much experience about it. I hope everybody can help me about this problem.

Thank you very much

Hi neceel,

DDNS_ACCOUNT refers to your no-ip account, if you use text program please enclose the account name with double quote.
Incorrect profile could be cause by special character in the username, which might be rejected if no double quote.

Do not forget to set APN (if required) in case you need to access public IP.

After everything is set, you can test the DDNS update by sending DDNSUPDATE to the logger.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan

Hi Rudy,

I signed up for the no-ip account with username and password.

But with Detransfer and dEX password is correct but username=NO.(I do not understand why)

I also tried to change the username of the no-IP account.

Best regards

Is the host contactable?
Do you get a reply when you ping from the datataker?
Has the sim card been set for being external to any fire walls?
E.g. telstra.extranet not the standard internet.

Cheers

Roger

Yes, the host is contactable.

For the ping:

PING google.com

DT80> PING google.com
172.217.18.110 responded in 480 ms

And Yes the SIM is good.
