Command Window Doesn't enable

Hi Roger

Thank you for the tip, however with those settings I still cannot get it to accept the program. Would there be any difference between using the desktop version of deX or the deX from the logger?

Regards
Andrew

Hi Andrew

dEX is a web based application and there for requires a TCP/ip connection.

Once you have loaded the dEX config you can then send the commands to start / stop etc.

If you write your config in the dataTaker language or extract the dataTaker code from you dEX configuration then you don't need a TCP/ip connection to config you logger.

Cheers

Roger

Hi Andrew,

Can you please check the logger command language?
That error "at line 27 col 56 [MB]SERIAL <err>'P141'" might also related to the missing number 3 for 3SERIAL.

If that is true, please try to upgrade the logger firmware.

Notes:
Incompatible port has been addressed by Roger.

Hi Rudy

The missing "3" is probably a transcription error, as I was using dex I don't think it could have been omitted. I am using a TCP/IP socket to connect to the logger. However I am using the desktop version of dex rather than the dex pages stored on the logger (it takes several minutes for the web page to load). Does this make a difference? If so it is only when trying set up this particular function. If I set the schedule to run continuously or on a digital input then can upload the program without difficulty.

Hi Roger, Rudy

Does the image below - extracted from the manual - mean that I cannot send a serial command via USB port to trigger a schedule?

Good morning Andrew,

Yes you can trigger on serial data from the USB port
1Serial is the serial sensor port.
2serial is the RS232 host port.
3Serial is the USBhost port.
4Serial is the TCP/ip port.

Cheers
Roger

Hi Andrew,

Did you receive the same error? If yes, please use manual channel to address 3SERIAL.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
