Connection of RS232 port to PC

Hi,

I am a student researcher. We have DT80M model. We need to connect a controller to the DT80M through a rs232 port and need to view the information in PC. Since DT80M doesn't have a rs232 port.

Can i convert the RS232 to RS485 and then connect it to PC for retrieving information? Is it even possible?

Thank you for your support

Good afternooon Brindha

The serial sensor port can be RS232 RS422 or RS485.
Set the profile for the serial sensor port the the mode you want then connect your device.

Cheers

Hi Brindha,

Thanks Roger.

There is a second serial port (called as serial sensor port or sersen port) located in front of the logger (green terminal with label Rx Tx RTS CTD and DGnd) for multi purpose.
You may set sersen port into RS232 and connect DT into PC, make sure to change the function to COMMAND for enable command control (from PC).

However downloading data does not need RS232 port, you may utilise Ethernet or USB connection to access dEX web interface.
After starting dEX, go to Monitor the Logger - select Retrieve Data and CSV format.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
