I need to do a preliminary evaluation of the quality of Cellular Signal available at a specific location to establish a "Signal Profile" for the location. This is an important preliminary test to gauge how reliable the communications will be. A week of data gathered and reported every hour by email will establish a reliable base line to evaluate.

I am thinking that the way to do this is simply through an hourly schedule which will start a comms session, but what is the variable that I am interrogating specifically that reports the signal strength? Also can this be rolled into a single start session statement in a manual channel in dex?

You may use system variable to sample signal strength of internal modem.
Please write this code in dEX manual channel:
82SV("Signal Strength~dBm")
84SV(Bit error rate~%")
