Reg: DT 80 Series 3 Data taker

Hi All,

I am working in a project where we are using the DT 80 series 3 with strain gauge application. The resistance according the supplier is 350.4 Ohms ...Bridge connection has been done with DT 80 as per the drawing...Web interface has been established B/W laptop and DT 80 for configuration....Basic configuration have been done and this i configured as BGI (current excitation and arm resistance also defined)...

When i check in the monitor tab i am getting value between 90 to 100 PPM.....I have doubt the value which showing now is correct or wrong...If correct ,how can i able to make the zero (like offset) ....how can i cross check the PPM value ...

Thanks in advance

Good afternoon flsarun,

That is a very good result. All gauges will have some strain from installation but this isn't a problem as strain gauges are a relative output device.

To remove the offset just subtract the strain gauge reading when you are at the zero point. This can be done in a schedule that is triggered to take the zero reading or by hard coding.

Cheers

Roger

Good afternoon Roger,

First of all thanks for your prompt reply. As i am new for this data taker ,as said by you i have done calculation to subtract value but this zero is showing in the calculation window....is it possible to show in current bridge tab for example ..

Current bridge value ---100PPM

Calculation = current bridge- 100=0

How can i show zero in the current bridge instead of 100PPM.....

If you provide me some example it will be more useful for me...

Hi Arun,

Please find the following sample for re-zeroing:

BEGIN"Current"

1BGI(LM,=1CV,W) 'zero reference

RA5S LOGONA
1BGI(LM,=2CV,W) 'raw reading
3CV("Load~kN")=2CV-1CV 'real value
END

You need to read the initial value using BGI channel outside schedule A. This initial value will be used as a subs-tractor to raw reading value (BGI channel inside schedule A) to get the real value.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
