DT80 cannot handle PPP authentication towards mobile phone provider / internet services over GPRS protocol. Your computer does it trough the installed modem functionality. In the past I tested the internet connection using "intelligent" GPRS modem that handled the TCP-IP stack using a microcontroller inside the modem.
Handling the specific command sequences of the special proprietary commands in a state machine implemented in DT80 code, I been able to made the DT80 available to be contacted via internet over command interface.
This was done years and years ago, I suggest you not to loose time in this approach and upgrade to DT8xM series or, using a router like this instead of MC-35:
