Hi Chandran,

I am not sure whether we can activate this modem data connection via AT command.
I read from mc35i_atc_v0103.pdf and there is AT+CGDATA for entering data state.

If this is true, all you need is sending this AT command to dataTaker host port enclosed with single quote (').
And write the rest of command to sending out an email as per DT8x manual instruction.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan

Hi Rudy,

The modem is capable. I have tried connecting using PC to dial up and it works. I have username and password to key in. I don't know how to put these information in datataker. Hope you can give more idea on how to do it.

At the above link, it says DT80 can't connect to internet using GPRS. Hope you can clarify.

DT80 cannot handle PPP authentication towards mobile phone provider / internet services over GPRS protocol. Your computer does it trough the installed modem functionality. In the past I tested the internet connection using "intelligent" GPRS modem that handled the TCP-IP stack using a microcontroller inside the modem.

Handling the specific command sequences of the special proprietary commands in a state machine implemented in DT80 code, I been able to made the DT80 available to be contacted via internet over command interface.
This was done years and years ago, I suggest you not to loose time in this approach and upgrade to DT8xM series or, using a router like this instead of MC-35:

Good luck

If I'm remembering correctly the ER75i router has the digital I/O optional input port the can be programmed for SMS sending; DT8x can switch a digital output to trigger the alarm.
