VSAT Communication

Hi,

I have 2 issues here.
1) There is a DT at one of our remote location. We set it to send email everyday midnight. It is doing this well, but we are not able to get connected to the DEX. We are able to ping it and we are able to ftp it also. My VSAT supplier suspect that the DT's web server could be hang and need restart. Is there any way that we can do a restart remotely (without logging in to DEX)?

2) For sending out email from DT, I am using one of Malaysia's ISP account (streamyx) and this works well. However, I am not able to use our company account to send out email. What could be the possible problem? I think the port used is 487 or 2525 for smtp.

TQ [Chandran]

Hi Chandran,

  1. You may use DeTransfer to connect to the DT and issue reset command.
  2. DT only respond to port 25 of SMTP, so you may not be able to use your company account (port 487 or 2525).

Best regards,

Hi Rudy,

I tried DeTransfer, I can't connect also. Isn't DeTransfer uses port 80 also? If the http server is hang, than DeTransfer can still work?

Hi Chandran,

You must use port 7700 to connect to dataTaker using DeTransfer.
dEX is a web interface to communicate with dataTaker. Crashed dEX does not mean you cannot access dataTaker through other mean.

Rudy Gunawan
