Communications issues using TCP/IP

G'Day,

I run a DT80 series 2 which is connected to a wireless router & recently lost my comms link with my main computer. I'm guessing this is a computer problem however due to aging hardware.

Anyway, I'm also unable to (fully) link up with my much newer laptop. I am able to login to my DT80 via wireless & browse in general but am unable to send commands & receive replies both via the web interface or DeTransfer. When I link my laptop to my router via Ethernet cable I get the exact same issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Grant

G'Day Roger,

Still not able to connect unfortunately, the router is the D-Link N 150 - DIR 600 if that's any help.

Within the router, I have tried port forwarding both the DT80's IP address & ports 7700, 80 & 843 as well as port forwarding using my laptop's IP address. My laptop uses Windows Vista & the firewall has been switched off all along.

I did note that in your link it said that ports must be open on both the router & laptop - but I am yet to find out how to check if these are open or whether it really matters at all!

Thanks,
Grant

Hi Grant,

There can be fire walls at any number of places on you network and is any one of has been set to block port that the logger requires then it will stop the web pages loading.

Cheers,
Roger

G'Day Roger,

I performed a 'soft reset' of my logger a few days ago with no change. This morning I performed a 'hard reset' & all is working again as expected.

cheers,
Grant
