DT80 Series 1 questions

Hi Guys, I have a series 1 DT80 that I'm about to put to use in a different application than it was purchased for, we used to use delogger pro to program the device, is this still the best method or should i just use detransfer to upload new jobs once i have changed it ??

Also looking for anyone who has used a cheap wind speed meter etc, or is it easy enough to interface with the wind speed and rain capture etc of any of the weather stations that you can pick up on ebay ??

Also after clarification that there are 2 relay outputs which can be used with 12v outputs ??

Good morning pdockley,

1/ Programming interface.
You can use DeLogger if you wish but DeLogger5 is only compatible with Windows XP and Vista. If you want to use Windows 7 then you will need to use DeTransfer.

2/ Wind speed sensor.
Look for a wind speed sensor that has a contact closure output as it will be the simplest to connect.
They simply close a contact with the frequency being related to the wind speed.
On the DT80 connect the sensor to one on the high speed counters and use the DT channel option to calculate the frequency and from there you can use a span to give you the wind speed.

3/ Relay output.
There is one relay on the DT80. It has two terminals marked A and B.
Connect the Power to one side (Usually the A) and the device to be powered to the other and the DT80 can then be programmed to turn the power on and off as required.

The relay can switch up to 30 VDC and 1 Amp.

Cheers,
Roger
