Sourcing Eh and pH sensors

Hello all,

Does anybody know of non-proprietary Eh/ORP and pH sensors that can be used with a DT80 for soil field logging in the field?

Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom,

Why non-proprietary?
If you get the pin glass probes for pH etc you will then need buffer amplifies and other related power supplies to run it all.

It would be easier to get what you want off the shelf.

Cheers,
Roger

Thanks Roger,

Non-proprietary is not essential, but it can make calibration easier especially for no disclosed Eh reference cells.

We are putting a dt80 in the field for moisture, temperature and O2 logging. I was wondering if Eh and pH could easily be included on the same system.

Cheers
Tom

Good morning Tom,

The ease of connecting will depend on the sensor output.
The easiest by far would be a combined sensor that has an SDI-12 interface.
SDI-12 is an intelligent interface uses a digital channel and you can connect multiple SDI-12 devices to the network.

You simple read the items of data from the registers that you require. But being an intelligent device are more expensive.

Cheers,
Roger
