Logger Crashes

Hi
I have a dt85 whereby it is continually crashing and stops logging cannot be connected to, & front panel becomes non responsive.
the only way to get the logger back on line is to preform a reset and once this is done the logger reverts back to a much older date.
I have checked various possible causes but to no avail, I also have a UPS backup system on the logger but the problem persists.

I added an internal channel to monitor external power supply and this shows no sign of a cause as the power channel shows 11.9v stable with no sign of drop or rise before the crash.
I have gone through the event & service log and cannot see anything there to indicate the issue.

Can you advise as this has become a serious issue with regards to reliability as I do not know when this will happen and then how much crucial data I will be lost.

Hi Stephen,

The logger crashed because it was stuck on one of the processing thread, in particular "Ethernet stack releasing process thread". That was due to corrupt ID on the thread. Once the process get stuck, the entire logger will stop responding until you reset it.

The only solution is upgrading the firmware to 9.22 version, we have implement time out for freeze process such as above.

Notes:
You can also limit the interaction with dataTaker via Ethernet (specially via dEX) to minimize that crash.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
