I hope everyone is doing well.
I have the DT85 series 3 dataTaker and I would like to hook up string pots to it for our testing lab. I have no experience with the data taker and would love any help anyone can provide
I've emailed tech support and they suggested that it might by a voltage divider pot but I'm sure that it reads resistance. I even placed a multi-meter across the green and black leads and was able to get a resistance reading that changed as I pulled the string.
The current way I have it set up is as follows:
Green to *
Red to +
Black to -
When I place the multi-meter across the + and - terminals, to read voltage, as the data taker ticks, the jump on the meter is noticeable but not readable.
The way I have it setup might be correct but my problem is that I can't figure out how to get a live reading on dEX or which measurement setup to choose (Is it 3 wire resistance?)
Tech support mentioned that it could be a 2-wire setup.
It also looks like the data taker is taking samples every 1 second, how can I change that? I know that it can take faster samples because I had it do that (accidentally) once before.
Any help will be much appreciated!
