Hi Gpradipta,

There is no minimum hardware requirement on using tablet or mobile phone to access dEX, however there is flash player script requirement.

You may need to install android version of flash player (the last version should be 11.1.115.81 for android KitKat): http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/android/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk

Unfortunately only a handful android version of web browser which is equipped with flash player plugin, Android Chrome is no longer support flash player.

Dear Sir,

Thanks a lot for your reply.
how to directly connect DT85 using either Ethernet or USB connection to a tablet and access dEX from there.

Do we require any adaptor for same as most of the recent tabs come with a mini/micro USB port and without any Ethernet ports?

Pls advise.

gpradipta

Hi gpradipta,

Unfortunately you can't have wired connection from tablet, because:

  • most tablet do not have Ethernet code in their OS, so even you use USB to Ethernet adapter you will not get Ethernet connection (it might be possible on few brands but I have no reference on them).
  • DTUsb (including USB driver) can't be installed on Android or iOS, so you may get USB-B to microUSB-B adapter but it won't recognize dataTaker due to the missing drivers.

Rudy Gunawan

Hi gpradipta,

What is the android version of your phone? Have you install the correct version of Flash Player?

Have you also install Google Chrome instead of using the default web browser of the phone?
Default web browser (i.e.: from Samsung Galaxy series) would not work even after you install Flash Player.

Hi gpradipta,

You need to use Mozilla Firefox which is still supporting flash player.
And you need to use the apk file from the link that I gave you earlier.
Adobe link from dEX is only for Windows OS.

Notes:
Future version of Firefox may also stop supporting flash player.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
