Can not stop FTP server request in datataker

The incorrect ftp information was put into an ftp request. Now the logger is in an endless loop of requesting access to a server that is not there. How do I stop the endless loop. I tried SESSION STOP and SESSION CLEAR amount many other things. It did not help.

Update on issue:

We used the reset button on the side of the unit next to the USB connector and that reset everything. the system would not open up the Explorer control window. We tried reloading the firmware using the detransfer option but that did not work.

In order to fix that we had to reload the firm ware using the top USB port. The system is now back up and running.

Hi Brian,

In FTP transmission, dataTaker polled the data into temporary memory before sending them out.
If you set the wrong FTP destination, the queue will stay in that memory until you clear the list.

In order to clear the list successfully :

  • Make sure you halt your job for sending out data (send H) or delete this job (send DELD, DELALARMS followed by DELJOB, there is no need to put job name if you are in the active job)
  • Check the temporary memory (send SESSION LIST), it will show some value and the number of retries under FTP session.
  • Make sure the session stop (send SESSION STOP), remember when you send SESSION STOP you must be in idle position (between SESSION retries).
  • Delete all session (send SESSION CLEAR)
  • Recheck session list (send SESSION LIST)

When you try triple push on reset button at the side of dataTaker, dataTaker will be back into factory default and run in safe mode.
If you previously used a static IP address on dataTaker, it won't work as its IP set to automatic prior to triple push.

For re flashing the firmware using DeTransfer, please make sure that you use non USB version of the firmware, exit DTUSB and use SERIAL connection.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
