Constant disconnections and reconnections

I was given a DT85 series 2 at work but I cannot connect it to the computer. The problem is that it constantly disconnects and reconnects every 5-10 seconds (it is connected to its ac adapter, which is working fine because i tested it on another DT85).

I don't know if it is a firmware problem but even if it is I can't update the firmware because of the constant disconnections and when I tried upgrading through my USB drive it wouldn't work (it just says "Reading USB device").

How can I stop the constant re connections?

Hi ,

By the sound of it looks like Logger resetting,

  1. Press the manual reset button
  2. Wait approximately 3 seconds, then press the reset button again.
  3. Wait approximately 3 seconds, then press the reset button a third time.
  4. Verify that DT80 restarted / Safe mode is displayed on the LCD.

If this does not work You can upgrade the firmware Logger firmware in Bootstrap Mode.

Please refer to "Upgrading DT80 Firmware" Section of the User Manual .

Lokesh

When connecting the usb drive to upgrade the firmware, the red attention light flashes which according to the manual means that there is insufficient space on the data logger to upgrade to firmware, but I cannot connect to the data logger to free up space.

Is there any way to free up space without connecting to the computer?

Hi glasgowtim1,

You can use your USB drive to clear all the job from the logger (make sure you don't have any important data).
Create this syntax in your notepad:

DELALLJOBS
FACTORYDEFAULTS

Then save it as DXC file (DXC extension not TXT) on your USB drive.
Insert your USB drive to your logger.

I hope by resetting back to factory default you can gain access to your logger again.
If not, please try upgrade the firmware.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
