I have a DT80 Series 2 that seems to be stuck in a loop where it resets over and over when it is powered on. It has the same symptoms as this thread:

I tried upgrading the firmware as suggested using Detransfer. I downloaded the latest firmware, hold the Edit button to get into boostrap, then select the firmware file to begin the upgrade. However I get no indication that anything is happening. After a few seconds, the bootstrap time runs out and the DT80 goes back into a reset loop. The details window in the upgrade firmware dialog remains blank.

Any suggestions of how to restore or upgrade the firmware would be appreciated.

I also tried to update with a USB flash drive, but no luck.

And here is a video of the loop. It's a bit hard to see the LEDs due to the lighting, but they come on for a few seconds, then there is a click and the Sample and Disk LEDs go off. Then there is another click and the Sample and Disk LEDs come back on, and the process repeats.

Hi Josh,

I notice that you have DT80, please follow the same instruction on that tread on SERIAL connection.
DT8x Bootstrap on RS232 should be referring to SERIAL connection.

I finally got this logger working again. I tried many times to reinstall the firmware using different versions and different settings but was not able to do so. I ended up opening the case of the logger, removing the internal compact flash card, and formatting it to wipe out all programs and data. I plugged the card into a USB card reader and used a PC to format it to the FAT16 file system since that's what the file system was previously.

After that, I reinstalled the compact flash card, reassembled the logger, and it began to work fine. I updated the firmware and loaded a job, and it began logging immediately. It has been running for a couple of days with no issues.

After talking to the person who was using this logger previously, I think he tried to load a job from a USB flash drive but removed the drive while the job was copying to the logger. Somehow that must have corrupted files on the internal compact flash card, so formatting the card removed these corrupted files.
