Good morning,

I want to instruct the DT80 to output a modem a command string with single quotes in "actionText". I am able to send a command to the modem. My request is: how do I get/ read the modem answer?

Good afternoon Sergio,

We have no way of reading back the reply from a command sent to a modem.
Why do you need to know the reply?

Cheers,
Roger

Good morning Sergio,

I think there has been a miss understanding here.
Yes you can use modems to send programs to the dataTaker and read data back.

A modem has two different modes.

With the modem in command mode you can send command strings to the modem to configure it. But you can not read back any replies from the modem.

When the modem is in the normal mode any thing sent from the dataTaker is sent to the computer connected at the other end etc.

The general method of operation is to send +++ to the modem then send the commands to the modem to dial the number required. When the connection is established the data can flow both ways.

We have technical notes on how to use modems with dataTakers in the tech note section on the web.

Cheers,
Roger
