The stored data in DT80

Dear Sir,

Please recommend me further information regarding how to suitably apply DT80 and Delogger4 software as the following questions:

  1. How can we use DBD file to be stored in USB memory stick? The configuration of DBD file will be stored in USB memory stick as following: SN081878--> JOBS-->JOB1--> A--> "My Job name"-->DBD file.
What is the application of DBD file? Please recommend.

  2. Is it possible to directly review or manage data to be stored in USB memory stick via Delogger4 and computer, no passing DT80? Please recommend.

  3. How can we check the number of data to be stored in USB memory stick and internal memory?

Base on Delogger4 software for DT5XX and DT6XX (.dlp), dataTaker will be able to check the number of data to be stored in external and internal memory cards via by using Status menu for updating the number of data. Contrarily, after using Status menu and select Memory for checking the number of data to be stored in the memory of DT80, there is not any update in the section of external and internal memory monitoring areas.

Please clarify me and recommend the suitable way to check the number of data?

  4. What is the application of "Data Stored size" in Delogger4 (.d80)/ Schedule A option? How about the affection after changing in various megabytes?

  5. In Delogger4 (*.d80) / Options / Advanced options/ Store location, can we select the destination of stored data by defining A: USB disk device or B : internal memory?

If it is accordingly, Will internal memory be able to automatically select after USB memory stick is full? Please clarify me.

  6. Do you have Delogger4 software manual for DataTaker DT80? Please send me if you have.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Thanaphon U.

Good afternoon Thanaphon U,

  1. DT80 uses a binary file for data storage. This format gives us tighter control over data storage allowing faster card access and pre-allocation of files. (The DT800 will go over to this format when V5 firmware is released next year)
As a result the files now have a DBD file extension. This is the file you see in your file path.

  2. We are currently working on a new version of DeLogger4 which have all the facilities for handling the new data structure. At the moment you will need to use DeView to extract the data from the binary format.

  3. At the moment you can't. Refer to point 1

  4. Because we are now pre-allocating the file size you can now set limit the file to the size you want. You can also set the file to a fixed number of record or a number of hours etc. Please refer to the DT80 user manual for further details.

  5. No. If the memory is full it will not write to another memory location. Warning the USB should only be used for recovering data from the dataTaker. USB memory is very slow when compared to the internal memory and is easily bumped or removed..

  6. You have the manual already. We no longer print hard copies of the DeLogger4 manual. It is available from the DeLogger4 Help menu.

Cheers,
Roger

Dear sir,

After applying Deview program to open *dbd file in USB flash memory, I have some problems to be occurred during changing Data Grid view to Trend Chart view. The characteristic of this problem will be presented as following:

  1. There is not any graph on the chart after changing Data grid view to Trend Chart view even when we select on all selected channels in Data grid view. It should be automatically updated after changing display mode.

  2. On the chart in the item 1, The updated parameters are "Show/Hide buttons" on the top of chart and scaling on Y-axis, besides the date/time on the X-axis. The date/time could not be presented in accordance with the date/time to be presented in Data grid view. It is always presented the unbelievable date as 12/31/1969 to 1/18/2038. By the way, we try to correct the date/time on the chart to correspond with Data grid view ,but any chart is disappeared.

Base on above information, please recommend me how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Thanaphon U.

Good afternoon Thanaphon U,

  1. Could you please send me a copy of your DBD file to look at?

  2. The time problem is most probably due to the computer not being set to the same time format as the dataTaker. Please ensure all the local settings in the computer has been changed. This might also be contributing to the other problem of graphing you are having. but we will know more when we see the binary data file.

Cheers,
Roger
