DT80 application on board?

The DT80 is a great logger. I have a few "wouldn't it be nice if.." ideas. It would be nice if Delogger or a reduced version of it could run as an application ON the DT80.

Then by simply attaching to it, the user would be able to grab logged files (replay or CSV) logged that were created as Delogger ran in the background. This would allow unattended but programmed downloads, dial outs, FTP transfers etc to be pre-programmed by the user. It could also make the interface much easier to program.

I know DT80 already has some of this functionality, embedding an application could do much more...

Good afternoon gesc,

We always welcome and encourage ideas for the wish list. This type of feed back is just what we want when we consider new features for our product range.

The DT80 is still a very new product and our engineering team are working on new features for the unit. I will add your comments and ideas into our system for consideration.

Cheers,
Roger

Thanks Roger,

There are several Delogger type "actions" which can unload to files, send text commands etc. The most useful to implement I think is the Unload to File, since this could create a file with "from and to date" functionality etc. The idea would to call this action from a DT80 alarm.

So we get a time stamped .csv or .dlr file which sits in the DT80 and can be accessed by Excel or DeView. Maybe this is overkill, I don't know? And maybe the DT80 already has this functionality??

Hi Ges,

With the DT80 we have a new feature were you can set the size of the file then use the archive function in an alarm statement to copy the data file with a unique file name (Time and date).

Cheers,
Roger
