Loss count on reset

Hi Members,

Does anyone know if there's a way to store an accumulated count so it can be read back as a starting point again following a Singlepush or power cycle on a DT80?

This isn't a concern for normal counts that are reset periodically or analog channels, but in the case of rainfall which is reset every 9am, if the DT needs a power cycle or Reset on site any total counts will be lost and I don't want to have to manually trigger the input to that value after the Reset so the data is continuous and not lost for the record at the next 9am.

Cheers,
Bill

Good afternoon Bill,

Sorry Bill but we don't have that functionality. I have added to the database of "really good ideas" so engineering can look into it.

Thanks for the feed back.

Cheers,
Roger

Hi Roger,

If the DT has any non-volatile RAM this can easily be written to prior to a reset/power failure and read back on resumption.

I do it with all my stuff and detect the power outage fast enough to make the write - a large electro (diode steered) ensures enough time for the process before all dies, if a power failure, and some quick housekeeping wouldn't take much to do the save if a Singlepush command was issued. I'm sure your engineering guru's could think of other means as well.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Bill

Hi Bill,

Firmware version 9.10 is capable to maintain CV values, you can enable this function on the logger.

Best regards,
Rudy Gunawan
