DT80 password

Hi,

I am setting up a DT80 to be accessed over the network, I can connect through Delogger, Detransfer, HTTP and FTP. I am wondering if there is any way to set a password for access to the dataTaker. Because the way the network is set up anyone could access it from any where and we want a basic level of access restriction.

I tried creating a password with "password='xyz'" command, but I can still connect up with Delogger. And the ftp password in profile doesn't seem to work as well. I have yet to try the PPP settings/passwords. Could someone help me to set the password or suggest other ways of limiting access?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Did you issue the SIGNOFF command?

Good morning Kevin,

You will be able to contact the dataTaker via anonymous ftp and recover the data files but you can't send any files to the dataTaker. The telnet sessions (RS232, TCP/IP, USB) you will need to sign off before disconnecting.

Cheers,
Roger

Hi,

I have managed to get the password to work, by signing on through DeTransfer and provide the password, then disconnect and reconnect with DeLogger. Finally I signoff from DeLogger.

Is there a way to avoid going through DeTransfer? I tried DeLogger with the disconnect if status check failed off. Am I missing something?

Thanks
Kevin

Good afternoon Kevin,

There is no Ethernet password support in DeLogger4.

Cheers,
Roger

Does it work using DeLogger Pro and a macro to send the password soon after establishing the Ethernet connection???? Never tried before...

Good morning teo,

I doubt it, the login needs to be sent before DeLogger4 does the status check.

Cheers,
Roger
