DT80 Internet Access

I have a DT80 data logger and I have plugged it into our home router with an Ethernet cable. In about 3 months we are planning to go to England. How can I access the DT80 overseas? I need a very detailed description of what I need to do.

Yours truly,
Sam Foster

Hi Sam,

I have done this several times on standard modems/routers. This website will give you a good idea. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

Hi Sam,

I would just use one of the default guides. The model may differ sightly but the set up should be the same or similar.

Take a look at this guide, if the screens shots look similar then use it, otherwise look at a couple of other guides: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Belkin/F5D7633-4/default.htm

Failing that, it may pay to contact a local IT company to assist.

Hello Sam,

Did u already solve the IP problem? For your information, I already done with connected DT80 via network communication. Might be u need to know, what is your global IP. To do that, u visits this website: http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/. Your global IP will appear.

Step 1: Registered your DT80 MAC Address and IP in virtual server at firewall part (BELKIN ADSL-modem web-base user interface).

Step 2: Get your global IP at http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/

Step 3: Go to Delogger Pro > Connection > Connection Properties>Network

  • Key in IP Address (ex : 192.168.0.10)
  • And Port Number : 8 (default setting)

Ok.. Then connected DT80 as usual. I hope u will solve your problem.

OK I know what you're talking about but what do I enter into my browsers address bar when I want to connect to the DT80 when I'm overseas?

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam,

Once you have your port forwarding set up. You need to type in your External IP address that the ISP gave to you. This External IP address may be static or dynamic and you will need to check with the ISP.

Your External IP address will be something like the following: http://203.43.52.197/
