Cannot log - no space

Hi,

I have a DT80 in a remote location and due to an extended power failure, it stopped logging. I have tried to reprogram it using a USB stick but no luck so far - it comes up with "Cannot Log No Space".

So by the looks the memory is already allocated from the previous program and in the new program (which is basically the same) the bit that sets the Data Store Size is causing the problem.

Now I've tried DELDATA, DELALARMS, DELALLJOBS, RESET, DELUSERINI, DELONRESET, DELJOB, UNLOCKJOB* etc etc and I still can't free up the memory. A STATUS shows that everything is still there. I borrowed a DT80 and tried these things both with the USB stick as well as by direct connection with the computer and it still does the same thing.

How do I clear out all the jobs and old data? I also noticed that a lot of the switch commands don't work - /e for example doesn't change to blue and when I send it the DT80 just ignores it. if I type in /h, it always comes up with /H, whether or not the caps lock or shift is pressed or not.

What's happening here? Password set?

Good afternoon Numbat,

To check if a password is set send the command password and if the dataTaker responds with password=1 then thee is a password in the logger.

Did you remember to hit enter at the end of each line? People have a tendency to not hit enter at the end of the lines and the dataTaker need the carriage return at the end to know where the line finishes.

From your comments it looks like you are using DeLogger to program the dataTaker.

DeLogger stops you from doing a number of things in the text command window (Like changing the H and E switches, DeLogger requires them to be set On at all times). Use the dataTaker menu to clear programs and jobs.

What exactly do you have on the memory stick? You can post it here or email the file to me.

Cheers,
Roger

I'm using DeLogger 4.4.2 (as I still also use a DT50).

I tried PASSWORD, but that stayed black and there was no response. I then tried using DeTransfer and then all the commands seemed to work as they should - deleted everything etc. Also the /h etc worked, and there was no password set.

However the main issues was that I couldn't get it to delete everything using the USB memory stick, but I'll have another try at this later.

OK, I found that putting a 'H' at the start of the ONINSERT.DXC and then

DELDATA*
DELALARMS*
DELJOB*
DELUSERINI
RESET

cleared up everything.

Now I'll just wait a day or two and see if I can get some useful data out...
