Simple question on FTP push

Hi Guys,

My network knowledge is quite noobbie, don't mind a bit of hand holding on the manly side of course. I want to FTP DT80 data to a FTP. I hooked up an Ethernet connection with DT80 and a single computer (manual page 141), set IP to 192.1681.52 etc, obtained interaction with DT80 embedded web page.

Great. I set up a free FTP in http://www.drivehq.com/ with username:datataker and password:password. Great. I fire up delogger and in the text1.dlt typed in (page 84)

U "ftp://datataker:password@ftp.DriveHQ.com/t1.csv"

This error message came out:

No matching storefiles found at column 52 [om/t1.csv<err>

I tried this, also can't work:

U "ftp://datataker:password@ftp.DriveHQ.com/"

My single computer connected to DT80 is internet available through my company broadband LAN network. So I read a bit on joining an existing network on page 142, but I know that I don't have to set up dataTaker IP to suit our LAN network (or should I?).

Then I changed my internet connection to my personal wireless broadband single modem, and unplugged my LAN connection. Same thing, didn't work. So, how do i FTP data up a web site with dataTaker connected to my single computer? Or it can't work like this, the internet modem must be connected directly to dataTaker not through a PC?

Thanks guys. 07/25/2008 19:35:06

Without reading too much and adding a couple of wild guess responses.

Do you have the DT80 profile setup with a gateway and DNS address etc? DT80 has to know how to contact the outside world, that is what these profile settings are about.

You seem to indicate you are trying to connect to the internet via your PC, I think this means you need to have the right profile settings in the DT80, plus some PC setup to allow another device to pass through (but could be wrong).

Does the logger have a job that is logging to memory? Maybe that is causing your error message. I could make a few more stabs in the dark but that would require me to read the manual, not something I normally do at night smile

Good morning Orange,

I think there may be a clue in the error message "No matching storefiles found at column 52 [om/t1.csv"

I think this is telling you there is no data file to unload. Check the logging has been turned on for the schedule and remember the store file isn't created until the channels have been sampled for the first time.

Cheers,
Roger
