DT80 Ethernet connection error

I have a series 1 DT80 Rev.7.04 firmware Ser.No. 084444 which defies all my attempts to get it to communicate via the Ethernet port.

I have carried out a "triple push" reset and have also upgraded the firmware, but despite trying to communicate with the logger via a "switch" or "peer-peer" connections, changing cables, etc., the error message "connection forcibly rejected" is returned.

However, the device can be "pinged" at the defined IP address. Is this a MAC address problem (there was a batch of earlier units that had incorrect MAC addresses programmed into them) or a hardware problem?

Which port number are you using in the configuration. I got caught out with the V7 firmware and the command port changing to 7700, maybe you have too!

Hi Craigus

I'm using TCP port 8 in my connection set-up (Delogger Pro) - I wasn't aware that this had changed! I have other units with version 7.0 firmware (DT85 and 80s) at the client's site which don't exhibit this problem?????

Good morning Richard,

We changed the port number from 8 to 7700 with version 7.02 firmware. The change was required because we found that port 8, which is the standard Telnet port number, was being blocked by many network administrators. The change allows the logger to work on most networks.

All changes the firmware are listed in the firmware release notes and can be down loaded from our web page.

Cheers,
Roger

You can change each loggers command interface port to any port you want to. Page 153 and 154 of the DT80 Manual (version UM-0085-A7) covers the PROFILE settings for Ethernet configuration.
