4-20 mA input and scaling

Morning folks.

I am having some trouble with the DT80 and my 4-20mA inputs. I am trying to hook them up across the + & - terminals and am getting nowhere. I have tried using and external 10 Ohm resistor but to no avail.

I am also using the Prog1.DT80 window for my scaling. I have read the manual that came with the logger but it only seems to reference the Text programming option. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?

Is it as simple as inputting the signal coefficients as 4 and 20 respectively and the physical coefficients as my pressure range? Any help would be gladly received.

Thanks.

Good evening IML-LAB,

By default DT80 assumes you are using a 100 Ohm shunt resistor. If you use a different value shunt resistor then add the Ohm value of the shunt as a channel option.

To scale the 4-20 mA input click on the scale tab select Span and enter the physical range of the sensor and senor out put will be 4 and 20.

Cheers,
Roger
