High speed counter rate

Hi guys,

We are still on the angular velocity problem. We are toying with the idea of using a rotary phase encoder and counting the pulses. With an encoder that produces 5000 pulses per revolution, it works out at 14.8 pulses per degree of travel. At 30 RPM that is roughly 14.8 pulses in 5 milliseconds.

Are we trying to get to much out of the DT80? We can go to lower encoder pulse rates. Thanks for your earlier responses.

Cheers,
Geoff

Good morning Geoff,

30 RPM will be 2500 pulses per second well within the 10,000 Hz spec.

Roger
